Frequently Asked Questions
SlickMat Silicone Baking Mat
How do I use my SlickMat?
If it’s your first use, remember to wash your SlickMat with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Place your SlickMat on a baking sheet with either side facing up. Simply place your culinary creation on top and you are ready to go. Baking times and temperatures may need to be adjusted. No need for any grease or cooking oil. Do Not use your SlickMat on a broiler, grill, or directly on the bottom of your oven.
How do I clean my SlickMat?
Before and after each use, clean your SlickMat with a damp, soft sponge and rinse with clean water. Shake to remove any excess water and allow to air dry. A mild detergent or soap can be used if needed. Do Not clean in a dishwasher. After several uses you may notice an oily or brown coloration on your mat. This is completely normal and will not effect your food’s taste in any way.
Can I cut or fold my SlickMat?
No, please do not cut or cut on your SlickMat. If your SlickMat is cut, please discard it as the fiberglass material could permeate into your food. Try to avoid folding the SlickMat. Though it’s super bendable, if you apply enough pressure to a small enough pinch, you could break it. Store your SlickMat flat and it will last longer.
What temperatures can I use my SlickMat to?
The SlickMat can be used anywhere from -40F to 450F and it is freezer safe.
On my first use, I noticed a slight smoke smell coming from my oven. Is this normal?
Yes, it will cease after your first few uses.
